The Annual Frodsham Wheelers festive ride saw 28 club members dress up to impress
Santa, elf, reindeer ,xmas tree outfits you name it they were wearing it. A quick dash out of Frodsham up the Ridgeway gave way to a few puffing Santa’s, but with a sprinkling of reindeer dust they were soon on their way.
Weather was surprisingly warm for this time of year which didn’t allow the reindeer to get to maximum speed. Passing Kelsall and Tarpoley the folks were out. All cheering the Wheelers on although some were slightly bemused as possibly hung over from the night before. Arrival destination Old Ma’s cafe 45 mins ahead of schedule.
Not a problem to a well organised catering establishment. Teas, coffees first then full English breakfast to follow. Lots of laughter and sing songs reflecting the true Wheelers spirit.
The journey back was through Tarvin then Helsby. The final dash into Frodsham saw a Santa sprint followed by an elf in a skin suit. I would like to add elf and safety was not compromised. Thirsty work for some so a obligatory pint was called for before the ride back over the water. A fantastic day, great route, super cafe, amazing costumes, lovely people. What more could you ask for.
The future is orange…
