A record number of riders turned out for tonights time trial event, 30 in total and we had some record times too!
The warm weather must have been a contributing factor to the high number of participants at round five of the Interclub 10 time trials at Summer Lane tonight. Spectator numbers were also up and we had a full turnout of volunteer marshals and timekeepers, a big thanks as always to you guys.
Race number 116 was the fastest round the course tonight pinned to the back of, yes you guessed it, Rob Green from Runcorn Cycle Club with a 22.23 and all 10 points. Congratulations Rob and keep up the great riding, you are the benchmark we all aspire to for sure. With a 23.34 Michael Leadbetter of RCC grabbed second spot and 9 points followed by Frodsham Wheelers Alan Orme 14 seconds behind in third place on 8 points.
Realising he had air leaking out of the rear wheel, Frodsham Wheelers Nathan Morgan-Astle had a bit of panic at the start line. With just 12 minutes to go he had to somehow get a replacement from the car park over a mile away! He managed to get it sorted in the end but it was cutting it fine, he was rider number 13 on the night!
We welcomed a number of new riders both club members and non-club members to the course tonight. A warm welcome to you all and hopefully see you back again next week. Dev Devaney of Frodsham Wheelers was one of those riders, pictured above taking on some fluids after his ride, see you back again soon Dev!
Overall it was another great night for everyone who attended. There were PB’s and smiles, a slight headwind coming along Pillmoss Lane off the A49 but other than that no problems at all.
A big thanks again to Andy and Paul, pictured above, and the other timekeeps on the start and finish lines, you make it all run as smoothly as a well maintained drivetrain!

A reminder to all reading this, anyone wishing to ride is very welcome, whether you are a club member or not. Its a friendly non-competitive event and you are only racing against yourself. All we ask is that you arrive to sign-on before 6.45pm and pay a small administration fee of £4 (£3 for FWCC & RCC club members).
