The Biggest Annual Club Event of the year is our D2D “dawn til dusk” charity bike ride which will take place on Saturday the 17th June 2017 from 3.30am to 10pm

About the Frodsham Wheelers D2D “Dawn til Dusk”

D2D gets its name because literally it requires riding from dawn til dusk. It also also takes place on one the longest days of the year. The ride is 220 miles long and starts in Frodsham at 03.30. It will attract more than 25 riders who will take on this mighty challenge.

Raising Money for Local Charity

The club thought it would be a good idea to raise money for a local charity as this is such a big event. The club are passionate about the area and the people within our community. We wanted to reach out and help others however we can. There were lots of charities to choose from but the chosen charity for 2017 is the Frodsham & District Stroke Club.

Frodsham & District Stroke Club is open to people who have had a stroke or related illnesses and their family, friends and carers. They offer advice and support as well as providing opportunities to have fun and make friends at their monthly social gatherings.

Each month they publish a newsletter and host a social gathering. They also host occasional special events and fundraisers. Vital funds are needed in order for the Stoke club to provide disability equipment to members and people in the community.

Ride Summary

The route heads up to Liverpool and through the Birkenhead tunnel then through the Welsh lanes passing Flint, St Asaph then breakfast at Llanwrst at 09.00.

Then a long section to Porthmadog. The next destination is Barmouth which is the furthest point on the ride. From here it is a long ride back to Frodsham via Dolgellau, Bala and Corwen before reaching Frodsham at 22.00.

Some riders will continue onto Liverpool as this was their starting point. We would love to see some support and encouragement for the riders passing through Frodsham at the finish.

  1. A huge thank you from all of us at FDSC, we are looking forward to Danny giving us a talk on your activities in June!

  2. Hi Dan, Old Jack here, I have rode the last three D2D and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I asked on here about 2 weeks ago if I could ride again this year but nobody got back to me. I am a member of Liverpool Century as is my ride buddy Paul Walker who would also like to participate. Could you please get back to me as early as possible on the below email address. Thanks, Jack. 07752124424
