With only 3 weeks remaining, tonight’s Hatton 10 TT was all about trying to make the most of the time left. And we certainly saw that tonight with some fabulous PB’s and some gutsy riding. It would be fair to say the wind was a bit mixed tonight, and the usual fast run-in down Summer Lane hampered some peoples strategies as the wind here provided the course’s toughest test on the night.
Pirate Juice’s Ste Downey took the win with 22:27 and was followed across the line by Runcorn’s Rob Green. The podium was rounded out this evening by Chester’s Graham Noble.
Tracy Hampson from Warrington Tri Club returned this week to take the win for the ladies with a fine 26:06. Warrington RC’s Helen Johnson (28:03) took second spot by a mere two seconds from Frodsham’s Diane Turner (28:05).
For me, special mention goes to Runcorn’s James Mayers. Fair to say I think he’s been off pace this season, but he’s never given up and never stopped smiling. Anyway, he ditched the TT bike and helmet for his road bike, and put in an inspired performance relative to his performances this year. I think Frodsham’s Dave Arundale needs to watch his back as he’s comin’ for ya.
SO, we move on to the penultimate week of this years Hatton 10 TT. We’ve been exceptionally fortunate this year with the weather and never had any interruptions. It’s certainly been a season to remember thanks to the all the participants and of course all the fabulous marshal’s who turn up week in week out. Take a bow folks, you are amazing….
Anyhow, here’s to a fabulous last two weeks. Make it count!
