Pumps are better than CO2 bottles, road tyres are better than cross tyres and the fixie might be going away for the year!
The first split A/B Sunday ride of the year combined with dry roads , sunshine and no rain forecast enticed 20 Wheelers out to play today. Danny took a posse into Wales to go sheep rustling and the rest of us headed out to the Eureka, via Kinnerton and Hope.
A couple of good climbs got the pulses up and the bunch strung out, especially as it was a stiff headwind. Once we’d crested the top, we dropped down our off road section into Hawarden and down the hill into Queensferry and off to the Eureka. Caked and brewed , and buoyed by a tailwind, the pace was brisk on the way home with what can only be described as a burn up kicking off once we hit Helsby.
As a mark of gratitude to our sponsors, Jamezz was good enough to not pass Matt on the sprint into Frodsham – diplomatically done Jamezz ,you’re a gent!
Thanks to all who turned out today. Good to see so many out and especially nice to welcome back those who’ve not been out for a while, but also a couple of new faces. Don’t forget Tuesday night is Turbo Night in the Bears Paw and Wednesday Danny is doing a B run from the shop, as well as Princey’s usual run. Busy Busy Wheelers!
