Weather permitting, which is a big factor this time of year , the rides should be as follows.
Saturday – El Classico , The Wizard. Moughland Lane lights , 8:30 , steady 30 miles , out to Alderely Edge for the traditional Saturday Wizard. Steady pace , flat route , coffee and cake , home by lunchtime. All abilities welcome , even Continental pro’s!!
Sunday – B ride will be north over t’bridge to the darklands of Merseyside. Head out towards St Helens and an ascent of Shaley Brow before dropping down through Billinge and Upholland , ending up at the Pimbo Nursery tea rooms. Back home for 12:30 – 13:00 . From there , anyone who fancies a long hard one (ooer missus!) then you’re within shouting distance of Parbold, Ashurst Beacon, Bank Top, Cobbs Brow. All the local classic climbs.
No pick up at Twelve50 this Sunday so all meet at 8:30 at Moughland Lane please folks!
Time to consider mudguards to protect those fancy carbon bikes as well as keeping your feet , backsides and fellow riders dry. Back lights in poor conditions are always a good idea too at this time of year.
Anyone who’s not yet put their name or money forward for the club dinner – places still available. If we don’t fill the 40 from riders then we’ll open it out to partners and non-members.
