Stuff wot we learned today.
You can have a front wheel puncture on a bend on a descent at high speed and survive. The continental freebies tyres arent great in the rain. The lock gate caff has gone upmarket. We need to find a way to publicise the club.
Another big turnout set off in the unexpected sun as As and Bs headed out together. A few hardy souls headed for Wales for the A run and the Bs, with 3 new faces sitting in, headed off for a chug round the lanes. Off to Saigh…ton, looping around to Tattenhall and down to Beeston where we stopped at the Lock Gate for brews and bacon butties.we took in a few of Kelsall’s hills on the way back which is always a good way to find out whos fit and who’s not.Lee blew his front tyre descending summertrees and managed to keep it upright before we bounced the yeld as the rain started. My tyres were squirming quite a lot, not sure what everyone else thinks of the conti’s? Prefer my Michelins. Well done to Mark, Nathan and Pete our newbies today. Everyone did well and hopefully we’ll see you all again soon.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to publicise the club? We picked up 2 new riders today who live in Frodsham but didn’t know about us !!
Don’t forget, Wednesday night is hale 10 night. Anyone who’s not ridden one yet this is your last chance to get a qualifying time for the championship in September.
I’m off on holiday for the next 3 weekends so any volunteers to lead the Be please step forward? I’m doing the Sunday run with the VC D’Ardbeg next week but will be wearing the Arancionero with pride!
Forza Frodsham!!
